Seismograph works steadily (1/58 and seems to fairly sensitive but no earth tremors or shocks have been recorded, unless there was one on the 13th, which did not look to me to be quite like an earthquake record. Mae brought in two more boxes of foxskins today to warm up a bit before we open them. Out for three mile walk this beauti- tiful day, going up fjord as usu- al on account of the direction of the wind. Light seems slow in coming back this writer. Began developing plates. Mae reports the rate of the chronom- etter as being + 4/10 sec per day. For many days (18) the observations of 19 days indicate that the seismo- graph clock is now running with a regular loss of between 0.1 & 0.15 sec. per day, i.e. the loss as com- pared with the chronometer is between 0.2 & 0.25 sec. per day.
