9 June Tuesday - first attempted to get
away at 8a but men did not finish work
on boat till 6a + then had to get some
rest + something to eat + after that
have Mr Porsild come over + inspect
engine. Then 2p. was set and Mrs
Lindor + I were taken on board with
one trips, but repeated trials failed
to start the engine and at 3 o'ce a
decoy consent for Mr P to come
over again. This was going to take
some time and Mrs L went ashore
but I stayed on boat and read
"Freckles". Mr P came, discovered
the cause of the trouble with the mo-
tor then L came on board again
and we finally got away at
5.30p. Weather still overcast
