One of the worst features of the
whole enterprise and the one that
now seems most liable to lead to
serious consequences is the shortage
of food supplies on board the "Cliff".
When Captain Pickals was questioned
in New York, Boston and North
Sydney regarding supplies he said
that he had plenty on board for
a two year voyage. Having heard
of this statement I did not inquire
into the matter particularly sup-
posing everything to be all right.
