Hemiglossum Pat., Rev. Mycol. (Toulouse) 12: 135. 1890. Type species (only original species): Hemiglossum yunnanense Pat. Notes: Imai (1941) has erected a subfamily of the Geogloss- aceae, the Hemiglossoideae, to accomodate this genus. He also added a second species H. itoacum. Le Gal (1959) described a third species H. congolense. Heterochlamys Pat., Bull. Soc. Mycol. France 10: 231. 1895, non Heterochlamys Turiz., 1843. Type species (only original species): Heterochlamys chusque Pat. Notes: Müller and von Arx (1962) treat this genus as Gilletiella Sacc. & Sydow as do Theissen and Sydow (1915). Hyalodothis Pat. & Har., Bull. Soc. Mycol. France 9: 210. 1893. Type species (only original species): Hyalodothis clavus Pat. & Har. Notes: Theissen and Sydow (1915) found that the specimen described was an unripe Ophiodothus with a parasitic Hyponectria attacking it. Clements and Shear (1931) synonymized the genus with Balansia. Diel (1950) and Arnold (1967) considered the generic name to be a nomen confusum. Arnold, in an examination of the type collection at FH, found an hypocrealean fungus embedded in the stroma of a Balansia and referred the parasite to Neatriella, the name for which is N. balansiae Arnold. Lilliputia Boud. & Pat., Bull. Soc. Mycol. France 16: 144. 1900. Type species (only original species): Lilliputia gaillardii Boud. & Pat. Notes: According to Hughes (1951) the type collection is a synonym of Lilliputia rufula (Berkeley and Broome) Hughes. Dennis and Wakefield (1946) have described the perithecial wall structure. It was originally described in the Tuberales, where it was truly lilliputian. Dennis and Wakefield place it more convincingly in the Eurotiaceae. Maurya Pat., Bull. Soc. Mycol. France 14: 56. 1898. Type species (only original species): Maurya hypoxylodes Pat. Notes: Considered by many to be a nomen confusum. Petrak (1951) has studied the type species and has decided it is a Hypoxylon stroma parasitized by another fungus. Microstelium Pat., Bull. Soc. Mycol. France 15: 208. 1899. Type species (only original species): Microstelium hyalinum Pat. Notes: The genus has been accepted by several workers and is treated by Rogerson (1970) in the Hypocreales family Clavicipit- aceae. However, annotations on the holotype of the type species indicate that there is no fungus present and that the structures described were of a moss. It has been excluded from the Hysteri- aceae (Zogg 1962).
