Ficusapi's [illegible]? Anulus cuneus? torture A rigid, - 6"-10" high. Stellate & somewhat geminulate at the solitary node. Thorns short 1/4 the length of the internodes; striate compressed carinate smooth except as the throat where it is furnished with a plied tuft - ligule minute, ciliate lacernate, leaves plane or camellculate-ly folded. Ligil conspicuously 3 reed - central 2 marginal, plore pulcent on both surfaces, scabrous on its margins; scarcely alternate others & numerousulate at the apex. Radical about 2". More of the culm about 1/2". Panicles contracted, ovate. branches alternate, aphred, erect - 1-3 flowered - as well as the common racimis hairy - spikeslets fulviflite - oblong ovate - many 10-14 flowered 3/4" long compressed - glumes membranaceous 1 reed. carinate, acute, somewhat distant on rachis. The upper longer & slightly aristete, both shorter than the scabrous on the nerve. Palea densely silky pilose below - The marginal nerve being a silky tuft near the base & pilose above with an intermediate arched space - Upper pulen over all lower, bicarinata conform to the lower - pilose ciliate on the nerves, Stamen 3 - ovary stipitate styles 2 plumose with simple hairs. Synandrus 2 - fleshy - truncate, seed oblong smooth & shining
