Author seems to have overlooked the plumose rudiment noticed by Jorey, which is in some specimens nearly as long as the Sareb. All the specimens we have received have 3 Stamens pure those collected by Dr Brydow in Whipple (Spd) which were but one. The older states of the plant have the branches spreading & the aspect is very different from that of the young specimens when the branches are East Alnus in speciosa Beale. Bately Bells - May 1850.
