The same form with the spikes unusually obtuse. N° 127. A more doubtful form as the spike is unusually glabrous. N° 128 & 129. Seen at any rate a good variety distinguished by the very short pedicels. They are A. Pendleicensis Meud: Mere Pendle No 973 and have called it in Mr Whitman A. un:sh; nam A. ligulari; Pendle 978 which Mendel calls A. longifolia or the same plant. N° 70 & 71 Arctidea Schrederana. Pir I believe they are also very close to A. longifol near trispadicea and A. complanata. N° 72. A. Schrederana Pur. I think my copy No Mr Wright 748' is Mr Whitman can also A. Schrederana. N° 73. Zigotysis, also I suppose A. Schrederana seems also to come very near to Aro[?H]b[?M]acna) tenuis H.D.H. Very probably N° 70 to 73 are the same. I have examined them carefully but have been much puzzled. N° 74. A Arctidea divaricata H.D.H. as I understand Mr's plant. Very close to A. longifolia Pur: Wright 742! and Pendle 976! Seems the same. N° 75. differs from A. Humboldtiiana or not having a twisted effect to the flourer The glumes vary considerably. Afterwards very closely to A. tenmisses Lavan with the lateral seta margin than were described. N° 76 is A. deschensia Pur: but thought to be called by me of Mr's name No 740 of Wright is the same.
