Richardson 1938 General Account Catalogus This morning studied traps, prepared spinners, and checked in the 93 net traps, and 194 mono traps and 2 stub traps which were bought in by my collector from the lake shore and about the middle station. This afternoon packed food and manual ships in preparation for their shipment to Hollandia. This morning another friendly visit of the 11 natives who left camp yesterday evening. The afternoon another group of 12+ natives came into camp to trade shell potatoes for copra shells. Unfortunately their prices were too high and the weather too small to do much trading. Did however buy a few potatoes. The day was harsh here in monsoonal shells. My little desire for seeds or tubers, things as class good, tried and although found salt & clutch gets only a small bit of piles of potatoes. Sept 1 Lab Kallena, Netherlands New Guinea 3225 m. 96 net traps, 27 stub traps — 2 Stenomyze This morning collected the net traps and 13? stub traps from the many forest 1 kilometer NNE of camp. Spent the remainder packing equipment for the trip to the Willemia camp. Tomorrow 3 sacks of traps, 1 collecting box, and one pack of cardboard boxes are going up. The glory has been the whitest day in the history of an camp. Overcast and intermittent shining throughout the day. The aircraft for Rabaul flight to Kallena today was cancelled because of the weather. Hord returned with cook & collector from the sugar camps. Came down for the purpose of observation trip over Willemia top again. Togam 7½ — 8 hrs.
