Smith & my present home
The above is the route that Beers and I took
the afternoon in the good motor launch kindly
lent by Mr. Kyhlend. During our search for a
suitable airplane base we traveled along the entire
coast line of the northern portion of Humboldt and
Hollandia bays. There was no sight which
was as good or better than that on land in Hollandia.
There were shallow coal reefs, high hills with
shrub forest, or swamps which spoiled each
suitable spot a probable base sight.
