General Account July 26 Kabima Lake, Netherlands New Guinea. 50 net traps, 2 set traps - 5 Strongys, 1 Paparoays The plane came in the morning as usual with its load of cargo and groceries. After a quick checking of its cargo it left for Wewak in the Mindoro Territory. After the plane left we continued on breakfast after which I accompanied by Bruce, Zwick, Kelly and one of my collectors went the rounds of the traps. (In quite an area) The rest of the morning and early part of the afternoon was spent in preparing these specimens. This afternoon I and my collectors set out 50 net traps and 1 set trap. These traps were set until well past yesterday noon. W.I. began at the top of the lower hill south of cargo and continued in a general SSE direction down a small spur, through a gap into another ridge to the top of it another low hill and past way down a small steep spur leading to the north shore of the lake. This region was selected because of its conservatively by nature in large patches of Paparoays and Bendicots. Although fairly well drained this is still spade ground changes about the bush and trees about and between which are small openings of dry lichen a moss covered ground.
