Evening out for bat and later sat with camp. Shot 1 fruit eating bat by lamps light. Weather: Broken overcast clearing in afternoon. Light rain early morning. Apr 12 Berhard Camps Stirling R Netherlands New Guinea 80m. 79 mm traps, 267 set traps, 27 stub traps - O Yesterday evening shot 1 Dolores. Bird sent over 1 Dolores 1 Strigens. Afternoon shot 3 Entellomus This morning tended traps, prepared specimens and did odd jobs about camp. Afternoon went hunting along the upper edge of the flood plain where it meets the swamps. There are several good trap sites in this area especially along the small stream sides. Shot 5 bat. Evening out bat shooting and later out jackking. No mammals obtained. Weather: Early morning overcast; mid morning clearing; remainder of day clear with occasional clouds. Apr 13 Berhard Camps Stirling R Netherlands New Guinea 75m. 79 mm traps, 267 set traps, 27 stub traps - O Shot 8 Hippodrome this afternoon. This morning tended traps and went at hunting on the flood plain. Afternoon cut track along river for night hunting and prepared specimens. Evening out for bat. Weather: Overcast clearing during mid day evening rain which continued through the night.
