25th Bickerton 1939 82 Annual Account This morning at 6:45 Agostin Tardil will transport left for the 1500 m. camp. This he is to put in readiness for our arrival somewhat about the 11th of Feb. Jan. 28. 15 km S 20 Burned Camp. Darling River. Netherlands New Guinea 1800m. 228 net traps, 17 stick traps — 1 Melampsy 1 Perigota. Tended traps, examined specimens, and visited the 15:00 camp of Tardil this morning. This camp is to the south of our present camp and during the same storm which had raged here at our camp. It is fun that 2 of my collectors as trapping all day they caught something in the traps last night. I checked the traps line and found that it is well placed. Spent 1½ hours looking for the first white Tardil said occurred along the stream. Searched a single individual near the waterfall till was in the soft depression which occurs along the stream side. Tar was not in camp to addition said he had gone with a party down the miley toward the native gardens. Turned in camp the afternoon became of bad weather. Jan. 29. 15 km S 20 Burned Camp. The morning tended traps, prepared specimens, and repacked all dry specimens in proper in preparation for packing. To dry specimens thus it has been necessary to make a small oven like affair and keep going burning underneath night and day for the past 4 days. The final drying in the afternoon in an of Brassie oversaw. This station spent in camp. Note: This morning no mist, clouds broken and creamed sunshines. Afternoon misted over. Saw type with yesterday.
