Consists of the following - $2 canvas loads for traps 2 .. .. of collecting equipment etc. 1/2 .. .. for radio. 1 .. .. food (8 days) 1/2 .. .. that. 1/2 .. .. camping etc. I shall have tomorrow providing the Gala arrives in the morning. If not I will have to remain here until it comes in. Gala with crew Archibald Phythian, Fossi cook boy, Archibald boy specimens, and part of the group, etc left this morning for Gallandia. At transport, the first, with Bruce, Foss and 30+ canoes, and soldiers went to establish the 2800 metre camp. It appears today in spite of the good weather for Sample they are still interested in the construction of the lower camp. Hope they prove useful in bringing in specimens. Oct 9 9 km NE Lake Habena, Galbanda New Guinea 2800m 1/2 traps This morning Gala came in bringing Fowler, Jacobs, They were good interest in camp and its working. They inspected the camp, had tea and returned. Fortunately today was ideal for their visit, the best we have had for the great second week. At 12.45 left Habena for the camp arriving here about 3.30. The trail is NE of Habena up a ridge from the grassy valley and down into the forest.
