Oct 4 Lake Kaffera, Netherlands New Guinea 3225m. Alt traps. Spend day at camp drying specimens. Word is busy collecting method for group. I am beginning to wonder where we are going to farm all of the material while he is collecting. The preparations & etc that we made fell and he is only started. Solo had successful trip 9 July today. Hope that favorable weather permits its flight too. Oct 5 Lake Kaffera, Netherlands New Guinea 3225m. Alt traps. Today spent in packing specimens and collecting method for group. Today the Solo came in with pilot crew - Dodge, Dunn Booth & Bendler; and Dr. Fells. Dr. Fells reports all in order at Darling camp, my sickness on malaria, and then well left camp. The Solo will remain here until the 8th. the crew of which will aid in collecting group. Today radio from Mr. Abery reports the river very high one of the terrific in its rate.
