When Dave or Scherck can go from the camp down below the farm to help Dave collect material specimens in this region the latter it goes on the greatest of trips. Sept 20th. km C Mt. Willamina, Netherlands New Guinea 3800m. 87 net types, 17 stub types - 2 Strams. This morning Archibald, Read, Iceland, Scherck and carrier left camp (750) in wind of a smooth went up Mt. Willamina. The went on the saddle, south of camp, on to the south side of the earthy ridge of Mt 20. Archibald off with me his collecting box and types which I can do to the best of my ability. Lead types and general specimens the morning. This afternoon the two collectors and myself went the 84 net types and 6 stub types. The line begins 35 m. above the level of camp and continues in a SSE direction up the side of an open forest slope, through a young scrubby and into the Willamina ridge below the precipitous rock wall. The latter region was a very old talus slope which has been colonized with more sparse and larger the grasses now dominant. Through the grass there are many names of probably belonging to Strams, Linguistics, and Melamp. Morning I sent down to the lower camp 19 skins of Piths of samples collected by Archibald during his stay at the camp. Rads again the evening.
