P. De Berendici: 1964 23 15 Jun on board the Golden Bear off central Mexico. earlier, about 11, when I went to the bow saw a Blue-footed Booby, (Black tail and wing, mottled brown & white back, white below) circling du bow of the boat. about 12:30 3 all brown Boobies with greyish bill & feet circled the bowl. Pimani (?Secondaries) mind tail darker. Also saw one that was pale on the belly, not very simply set off. ?in m. Red-footed Boobies. Circled the boat for a short while then flew off. About 1 P.M. noticed a Frigate bird chasing a booby (sp). and with the glasses could see 2 more frigate-birds. Scanning the horizon found a group of about 25 Boobies, not obviously feeding, and about 35 Frigate birds. circling high over head. They paid no attention to the boat at all. Had a meeting at 1 but after about 5 minutes this was interrupted by a fin chill. Saw a Black Petrel flying along side the boat and a (? Jaeger) which gave stiff-winged grille a bit. The meeting went on to the synopsim which was somewhat more interesting though unbearable- climate-wise- which lasted to 4. Still nothing with the boat, and not much to be seen. There seem to be two types of flying fish, one with very large pelvic fins, th other with smaller pelvic fins. Saw another of the brown boobies. About 5 spotted a # of (? tuna) leaping out of the water; shortly before sawa Pomarine Jaeger. just after 5 a Pomarine Jaeger and a Pale-
