R DeBenedetti 1964 Creaguer Feb 18 Punta Suarez, Isla Espanola, Galapagos. quickly stopped and bobs began preening its scapulars and back feathers for some time. The birds spend much time preening these feathers and the under wing coverts and axillaries. They usually hold their wings up for 3/4 second also when they alight. The forked tail is apparent only when the tail is closed; when the tail is fanued it looks quite rounded. Saw a # of Creaguer sitting on the rocks a 1/4 mile out from the cliff. There is a lot of movement of individual girls during the day, but most seems to be from one perch to another, and not out to any great distance from the cliff. About sunset and shortly after we saw 4-5 groups of 20-70 Creaguer flying W plus several smaller groups and single birds for a total of about 200-30 birds going W in about 15- minutes. The flight was quite slow and leisurely and the birds did not seem to be in any hurry to go off. They would few calls; after it was fairly dark heard one "cettle call".
