DeBeauches 1464 225 March 7 on board "GoldenBeam", Gueyaguid to Coco Island Custis show wide tail bands but the long fight. possibility I am confusing them with petrels. From the bow I saw 4 more of these Custis, 2 at a time at a fair distances. The tail is marked before a tetraph. Between 1 and 1:30 I saw a royal custis and an Oceanuliss which was 1 1/2 sitting on the water in front of the ship. It got up carrying a 2-3 inch long segment of a fish tail, and flew 25-30 ft, sat down, got up again and flew off. The tail was very distinctively marked, like an even banded leach's only the black was always = wide [illegible]. Couldn't see the feet. Probably O. oceanifer here; it looked very unlike the petrels I have seen before on this trip, although I am not sure why (tail t? longer wings). At 2 we went back to Central Time and it again became 1 P.M. Went out from 3:15 to 4:15. Saw a group of 50-60 propises very close but not playing or the bow. They were small - 6-8 ft, marked as [illegible] One I with a young 3/4's been size stayed off the ship for some time; the two jumped from the water in synchrony and hid the waters so one animal. Most were ging forward but some hit the water on their sides, and other went almost straight up, and then landed on the belly with a great splash. They stayed with the boat
