DeBenevich's 1964 3 March Chayas, Guayas Prov., Ecuador as well, plus the following: (17) Ground Dove; brown; Gray (pale) head & top of neck; flight feathers color of black, tail longish, squashish-rounded. feet pink, bill bright yellow base. Seen at the 2nd coast (1 only) and last inland (3) stops, very well. (18) Marking Bird - dark brown above, pale greyish below and on face. darku (black) mask. Tail with pale terminal band, upper wing coverts all white forming a patch. Songs much like Mesomimus in/om. one was a throaty "Trew Trew Trew" Seen at all but the 1st stop, and commonest on the coast. (19) Cliff Swallows - maybe 0.5 species but fore- head dark; many with pale throat, whitish trace throat. Others with orange throat. Nests are all normal style. (20) Martini - same as at port. Swallows seen everywhere but commonest on the coast. Progne chalyprea? (21) Fringilled. Junco size. Pattern of head at distance like slate-colored junco, close shows: b.t/l yellow, short + stubby as drawn. ? brown, pale below. All with 2 wingbars which make a patch like a siskin in flight. Two species or plumage as some ?'s have black throat & collar, others have yellow b.ll & no wingband; dark bill turning band but - ? not sure of this yet. See notes of:
