The snake was on the soft soil, between two overhanging rocks and not moving when I caught it, about 5:30 P.M. About 6 Caracates caught another about the same size in some denser vegetation 50 ft from camp. Earlier in the afternoon Dr. Bartholomew pointed out a very spotted sea lion with a photo, blunts snout than the rest of the local sea lions, an its golden yellow. He said it was the mainland species, but we lost it in the surf before it could be photographed. Saw half a dozen to a dozen 12" gray Pale Bellied Porpoise from the Patrol boat on the way in, about 2 hrs out of Hood. In the evening we heard and saw, until well after dark, Fortailed gulls flying at from the cliff. Saw 3 crows. Night Herons but no Green
