Peterson took a picture of a bull sealion with a Star Tack camera, and all sorts of marine iguanas digging nest stuff now. Painted a little during the night, wind from the E; found out what I have been calling N is West, so adjust all earlier notes appropriately. 2 Nazomys come in to this cooking area at night, nice big ones, and Ortiz nearly caught one in a box of oatmeal. They are not very shy but don't like to be in the light. Last night they chewed up a 1/2 a roll of toilet paper for nest material. Feb 4 packing to leave now. pickled Kiestev's snake after taking a couple of pictures of it. Not much doing today. Poked around the point but not much to see. Took a lot of pictures of various animals and places about the point. Got right up to the comorants and could see the nasal drip clearly: Saw finches picking ticks off iguanas twice. A lot of this seems to be incidental to foraging on the ground near the iguanas but the birds clearly probe into the axilla, groin, vent, and cerebral areas of the lizards. The Marine iguanas are really motley now: perhaps a hundred or so is exploring and is digging on its two sandy areas near camp. Of the 4 to 5 fs to a bruas. Not many successfully completed, and the iguanas flee, of whenever one or seab approaches. Saw several very small Tropidicus. One very tame Green Heron on the Pt and Penguins swimming is very close. About 10 the helicopter delivered
