The marked ♂ that was at J12 moved to F16 causing the UNM previously there to rapidly move to F20. 8:19 a.m. The SE ♀ at J6.5 gave a series of low "punk-unks" as some bird moved by the nest. At this same time the SE ♂ was on the [illegible] at J8 preening 8:21, he dropped off the raft, move to K7 and then to L6. 8:33- as the hen Malled w/big brood of 10, moves into the S bay, the SE ♂ came out to meet them and to threaten them. Since 7:20 a.m. the SE ♀ on the nest has continuously faced the ramp, and me, to the E. 8:40 some sort of a chase in the cat-tails at the S end. SE ♂ is at L5 so he's not involved yet may be Costs chasing Mallards in The Shilet, in fact I believe it is. 8:45 a.m. clear, warm, no breeze all the Coos are off the open water loafing in the cat-tails and under cover! Now, with the very abundant food available, they apparently can do their required feeding in a short time and then retire to be preen, and to pick a choice "pouting" foods. 8:50, since 8:45 a.m. SE ♂ has been loafing at J7.9, picking up thing from the water occasionally.
