W. GULLION 1950 May 12 Fulica Americana 415 Lake Temescal, 420 ft., Alameda Co., Calif.- been at F20 for about 5 minutes and have yet to see the E♀. The W pair seen to be staying together at H13, W13L and a marked bird giv feeding at S11, while another marked bird (M♂?) is feeding at L12. 4:25 p.m. I find a bird is riding at F21. No. 2 birds, 1- W-O||B the other is a UNM banded bird (♀? ), I chased them out of the willows and they are both moving across the lake towards the E area, now at L they turn N & S. The ♂ going N, The ♀ S at about L23 & L19 respectively. No E bird showed any interest. 4:43 p.m. Ito a♀ Mallard and 12 yrng passed E of the nest clump. No E♂ pulked" from the nest. The E♀ "pooched" from G 23(?), two yrng coots crossed from G23 to G22 alone, but together, while the Mallard crossed with her brood from R22 to R23. 4:48 p.m. The banded UNM and ♂ W-O||B at JK25, apparently interested in spending the night at F22. There are 1♀ adult coots on the lake today; 0 probably being at the S end - 7 of which I saw out on here. The W♀ and M♀ are both wild type birds, unhandled. 4:56 p.m. still no sight of the E♀. 4:57 the W pair are feeding along the edge of C- to at P15-16. No E ♀ wherever she is doesn't seem to be going to attack them. 5 p.m. they are feeding at the willows at P15,
