Back in position at 9:46 a.m. - 2♀ Mallards at Q21, E♂ heard, but not yet seen. 9:49 he is at Q24, probably was at Q23. W/B♂ at J12 just got its tags caught in Potamogeton and as it struggled to get free several other Cosco and Ruddy Ducks quickly gathered around close. At 9:51 a.m. E♂ + ♀♀ Mallards a few feet apart at Q25. 9:52 - W♂ chased W/B♂ from J15 to J17. W-0/3 has been in this part of the lake some this morning and right now is slowly working N from J20 9:55 E♂ following closely behind a ♀♀ Mallards at Q26, now to P22, the Mallards cut in E of nest clump and E♂ right behind them. 9:56- the whole lot are out of sight. 9:58 E♂ is feeding at R23.19, right against shore line. 9:59 he moved to Q23.14 and ♀♀ Mallards moved to R23. 10:01 the Mallards are moving out, E♂ is feeding at Q23.13.10:01:30 now he is standing and preening. 10:08 he stopped preening, is now just standing, scratches the tag a couple of times. 10:09 he's preening some more. 10:10 he's just standing, this last preen was only about 15 sec duration. 10:11 a fisherman at R22, he has moved to Q22.24.
