Lengths, primaries: sheath 26, feather out of sheath 26 m.; 20 secondaries; sheath 27, feather out of sheath 40; greater covert: 18 and 33 mm.; middle covert: 12 and 10 mm. Calif.- Arrived 9:00 a.m. Apparently just the two adult coots on the lake. They are both in the NW corner and may have new young there. Their second brood seems to have been completely lost. The adults seem to be gathering food and taking it into the cat-taylo in the N-N 25 area. I have not seen or heard any young, however. Found an egg nest at 11:25. 25 containing two addle eeggs and the membranes of previously hatched eggs. I suspect this nest was hatched within the week since the nest is apparently still in use and no or very little new material has
