Fulica americana 564 Aug 2 Univ. Calif Campus, Alameda Co., Calif. T00 - Primary sheaths about 23 mm., feather tip beyond that about 13 mm. medium and lesser upper-coverts being carried out on tips of new sheathes, greater under coverts shed then new feathers apper, foremost lesser-coverts still not changing. Tips white on coverts but not on belly. aug 9 same locality- T76 - no molt. T84 - no molt - big lot of scar tissue coming out one side of brass pin. T87 - new feathers well along, leading row of under-coverts, in fact both greater and under lesser coverts are well along in replacement. Median coverts have some out coming pin feather but not many. Primary sheathes about 24 mm. and unsheathed tips about same, secondaries and greater coverts about the same. tags about shed on this bird. T91 - no molt - steel pin securely in, no more bill bleeding, shield well refomed. T97 - still the 4 secondaries gone. I'm not sure just what the deal is on those feathers - they may not be in molt as I had previously believed. T99 - no molt, recently placed brass pin seems to be secure. T00 - This bird is molting in the order of remiges, greater coverts middle covert and lesser coverts not yet started while all other
