Felicia americana S58 July 18 Lake Terrescal, 420 ft., Alameda Co., Calif. H7.24 is met w/ feces in it, so I doubt its use as an egg nest, probably an all new nest will be built. I6.18 is being used as a roost lay costs, but is not being maintained as a brood nest. July 19 same locality - Eggs /2, +3 in K7.17 are not pippled - but warm. F was just off the nest as I came in. The one SE yng is in about the same plumage stage as the 2 Eyng, though somewhat younger in age. 12:00 both E adults off their nest P/6.2, and at N12, near the M pair at N11. Photographed the 2 E ying in color - 4 eggs in nest warm. The structure at H7.23 is developing into a nest, probably an egg nest, don't know where their platform is. Also note new material being added to the H7.24 nest. One SW yng has white- under-tail coverts, the other doesn't yet. Apparently only 2 yng in the brood now. Univ. Calif. Campus, Alameda Co., Calif. Bird G-V6 and P1G examined. New tags, Y-B + B-O on old pins, W-W, G-G & O-O on stainless steel pins. BB on bird T96, Y-B on bird T99, W-W on bird T91, G-G on bird T00, and O-O on bird T97. Shield has finally reformed on T91 (W-W), fresh shield growth on G-G. None of these birds showed any evidence of wing molt, tho their tails were in various stages of disintegration.
