The brood nest at N26.18 is newly and well built up, with a ramp, and is probably the nest the 2nd brood is being brooded on. Checked the cat- tails from M27 to K 28, no nest or nest like structure along there, but the ? at J 28, repeatedly "pooned" and threatened to churn, while the male moved way out to join, or rather, to feed close to 4 immatures at FG-24-25. July 11 Lake Temescal, 4'20" ft. Alameda Co., Calif. - at 9:50 a.m. the E ? was busily chasing 4 immature mallards at NO 15-16, and a minute later was chasing a pair of adults at N/3. One SW bird (?) was feeding with one young at I 11. The M pair are hanging around at K/10, the &E ? was on a nest K7.17 at 9:55a.m. Now 9:58 - the SW bird, we busy chasing Mallards, in the S inlet area.
