Since it was so very much warmer than the other two eggs I suspect it had been laid during a few minutes previous to 1a.m. A bird was flushed from The nest. The F was brooding 2 eggs at P16.2 while the E H roosted nearly on a floating board. Nest P16.2 was of course warm. Nests Q23.8 + .10 both cold. Nest J7.21, I6.18,I6.1 and H 7.24 all warm. Ruddy nest J6.22 cold. Lots of birds were flushed from this sev., Buddy, Mallards, Red-wings as well as Cotes. same locality at 11:35 p.m. the F (SE) was on nest 157.17- only 3 eggs. 11:43 p.m. a bird gave a series of sharp 'punk' trills, a little resembling the jackel but actually quite
