I pulled a few cat-tails from in front of this nest, and also cleard two holes through the cat-tails so I can see when any bird approaches or leaves the nest. Since the ♂ is the bird with the pointed shield in this pair, he is the bird nearest the nest. But now the ♀ is moving S along the west side of the open water and has stopped to feed at J24. Only four of the immatures are out feeding. They seem to be completely independent of the adults. They act like a normal flock rather than much of a family group. 3:06- now the 2 adults have worked together to do some billing and bowing at A23.
