Calif. - S at 8:25, - 6:55 p.m. Now she is coming round P23, giving the nest clump wide berth as she moves S to reach P/6 at 6:57 p.m. She went clears 013 before some boys came along and she moved to cover underth willow at N14. 7:02 she is moving N outside the cat-tail at P/6, now she is at P17, but went into cat-tails when some fellows appeared on the scene. 7:05 p.m. C/R chasing W/B#L at I/10. 8:30 p.m. a bird on nest J6.5, couldn't tell which sex. 8:04p.m. tagged ♂ on nest G22. By 7:30 p.m. all the Coots were in night lodgings, at about 7:55 p.m. two birds wed at E/13, in the water. May 7 same locality. At 8:05 a.m. a bird is on the nest J6.5, can't tell which one, facing S. At 8:20 a m. a bird on nest G22, can't tell which bird here either, yet. 3:49, was finally able to ascertain that the ♂ is the bird on nest G22. Rock at 3:57 - checked nest J6.5 - seems to be the ♂ on the nest but couldn't be sure, flashlight too dim. 3:58-E♀ at P17 or so "punking", showed by a "pukks" from further S. Firstglow in the E sky. 4:06 - E♀ "poorbeink" at P/17 or 16. 4:30- ♂ on nest G22 gives several "pukhs". 4:31- ♀ "punking" to the S:(E♀?). I have moved from directly opposite the nest
