The second Ruddy Nest has been destroyed or abandoned, at least 1 egg is in the water nearly, and the nest looks to be in use by Coots. Whether they had any thing to do with its demise I don't know, but doubt. This SE pair is surely raising a sympus as I work in the cat-tails at this end. They have 1 yng, a black boded individual with some colored plumes on its wings, orange bill and hoary head. Broad nest at J 7.21 is well built up, under good repair, and well used. Nest I 6.7 is in good repair, well built up and well used. Nest I 6.18 is well built up very large, about as large a Coot structure as I have seen. Its rim is 8 in above the water, it is 18 in across outside diameter and 8 in across the cup. Both P 16.2 and .17 in good shape the the former is in the best condition, being well built up with a good cup.
