GULLION 150 me 8 Fulica americana 486 Lake Temescal 420 ft., Alameda Co., Calif. - afraid of a new comer to the lake, a white Muscovy Duck. The structure at P16.2 is renewed and much built up, is composed almost entirely of coarse items etc now. Both parents nearly "cooing" and "putting." Also one red billed, black breasted ring w/ white & plumes on its head. The structure at P16.17 is also in good repair. Two yng watched, one with white on breast fairly extensive, see below - while the other has just Too thick Two white spots wide laterally, the latter still has a fairly prominent bald pate, the other much less so. Both have white plumes on their heads and both have orange-red bills. A new structure is well developed at D22. The first structure has completely vanished. The wood nest at S23.8 is well used and in good repair. Noticed the SW pair being especially antagonistic against ducks in the S inlet area, but the E pair were doing okay too.
