Saw a dispute with paired display between a SW bird and what I suspect was the MF, that was at J9, with the M bird retreating to K8. Am sort of dubious about these reports of 5 yng in the E brood. These may be, but I sure haven't seen more than 3 at any time. They are still red billed but seem to be fairly free of body plumes. While the ♂ is caring for 3 yng at P27, the female has gone up by the boat dock to feed. 4:50 p.m. The ♀ come south to feed the yng and the ♂ meets her, going on. As he turned back and now they are moving N with the whole brood, at 4:52 walking along at P32, very close to shore. There are 3 yng with them and no more. 4:57 p.m. They have the 3 yng by the pampas grass at N37, and there are people playing on the beach just around the corner. As a couple of people st note-BW and Color shots taken of the brood nest at N26.18 and egg nest N25.24 at Jewel Lake. Also one from the bridge looking S. moved down the walk the parents started S with their brood, taking them well out on the lake to avoid the people. The ♀ keep two yng pretty close to her, but the one following ♂ got left way behind in the rush.
