The case taken here at Temescal said he saw 5 yng in the last wood at one time this morning. 4 were all black, the 5th with some white fuzz on its body, Jewel Lake 510 ft, Contra Costa Co. Calif. 3 yng seen foraging individually, and independently around the S pond. Both parents were in and out of the cat-tails but without reference to the location of their yng. Two have light bills with b black sub-terminal spot, the 3rd lacks the black spot but has a black halo just above its eyes. This latter one is busily diving and feeding by itself.
