No fight that I know of, but chasing back and forth and paired display. The M♂ moved in quickly from K/2 to help his mate in paired display. 17:53 a.m. watched the SE ♀ feeding on the carcass of a 6-8 inch fish floating at K 7,1. He seems to be doing a pretty good job on it, tho he used only his bill to work on it. The brood of well grown Mallards were in the area at the same time, at first he tolerated them, but when they returned a couple of moments later he chased them a couple of times but did not effectively move them. 8:09- seems to be a chase in the SE area involving the SE♂ and some Mallards. Two yng of the E brood seen at O/3. 8:15- the SE ♀ feeding in the channel, a few feet from the M♀, spotted the M♂ just north of the island and chased splattered after him. The M♂ dived and when he came up at K12 the SE ♂ attacked again, this time diving with M ♀. M ♂ surfaced at L 14 and stayed put, preening while SE ♂ drifted back S. The two E adults
