"poorling about(?) the ♂ Mallard and her brood at R23-4:45pm 4:50 p.m. The ♂ came off J6 nest and the ♀ went on, no calls or notes. I readjusted cat tails and screened as. she went on. Opened that nest up so I can see into it from N7. 5:22 p.m. The E♀ is still out to nest J6.5. 5:28 p.m. the ♀ is on nest Q22 while the tagged ♂ feeds just E of the nest clump. 5:30p.m. both E birds off the nest, in the E inlet, by 5:31 the ♂ has gone into the nest clump and not come out. (I'm observing from F20 starting 5:30 pm PST-6:30 daylight time). 5:38, E♀ coming S at Q26, m fact she is cut out to N23, then as a fisherman came to Q20, she came in to P21- also the ♀ Mallard and 10 yng moved to Q23 from Q20 at the same time. E♀ now at Q24-5:41pm. A ♀ Ruddy Duck is at P23, now driftting S. 5:47 E♀ coming out from Q27 to O23. Fishermen at Q26 & 16. She is moving out to M20 as she goes S,-a log is on the road-she went into P16- now. 5:51 she is moving N at P20 to the approx vicinity of the nest clump. A fisherman moved in there, throwing a plug out near her, she momentarily displayed facing the plug, then moved to P23.
