A short time later some-one was breaking limbs in the trees near the S inlet, which may have had something to do with it. 11:12 a.m. SE? on nest J6.5. A moment later SE arrow saw M arrow just SW of the island and so attacked driving him to K/3. 11:50 a.m. photographed the M area and channel in color + BW. Nest J6.5 with 7 eggs in it, none pipped, not egg in middle of clutch, all eggs warm. Photographed in BW + color both good nests of the SW pair -J6.1 & 18. The J6 Mallard nest, and the Buddy Duck nest with the two newly hatched young. Also the P/6.17 nest of the E pair. While I was out both E birds were further N, fussing about something, the didn't even dispute my going to P/6. - Illinois. Calif. Campus, Alameda Co., Calif. Y-XR still no decrease in shield size. No molt, good YG legs. P/LG- shield may be receding, it shows scaly and SS about a 1SS, leg YG, no molt. T97; shield 8 SS, legs with a yellowish cast to the green. no molt.
