I don't know what did happen to them. 6:56, SE M moved from K7 to K4 where he & attacked the F Mallard w/ her brood of 10. The M F "punked" in response. The SW M "pukked" at the disturbance - 6:58 - Still some chase going on. 7:10 a.m. - the sun is on the cat-tails just above nest J6.5. 7:11 a.m. The SE F just gave a "punk-un-k, punk-un-k, punk-un-k, pook-unh, pookz-unh, pookk, pookk" and was immediately answered by M F giving the identical call at K7. 7:13 - SW M going to the eas for a moment. 7:45 - E M splattered from P/5 to chase w/ B L from N 12 to I 12, then as E M retired, the W M came out chasng w/B L to I 20. The whole affair drew a "puk" out of a S bird.
