Neither bird gave ground but it amounts to a regular for SE♀ since she is unable to rout M♀ from her selected Territory. 3:43 an unidentified bird splattered from L8 to M11 To go into display with E♀, then moving West to feed at J12, 2:46 - now returning to the W side of the island, perhaps the result of another bird moving out from E 13. I suspect the aggressor in this affair was M♀ but it may not have been, it looks now as if it was M♂, still trying to defend M Territory from E birds. It turned out that M♀ was at K7 all the while. 3:52 SE♂ off the nest, by 3:33 SE♀ on the nest and settled. M♀ doing some gunking; SE♂ moved from K 7 to L4 where he attacked a ♂ Mallard. The duck didn't move very far. There are some big fish or something in the lake that give the cat- tails a terrific nudge every so often.
