Lets June cold this evening. 6:25- E F stopped feeding at P 23- moved S to P 20 where turning to come back and patrol against me at P 22. 18:23 - then onto the nest clump, "preening". 6:27 p.m. without a sound the E O got up and off the nest, while the F was at P 22. 19, she said nothing, at 6:29 p.m. He was settled back on the nest, he had been in the water for a moment but returned to incubate further. She moved to P 23 to feed. She is feeding on decomposing cat- tail the same as he does. The incubating bird seems to do no preening or very little fiddling with the nest. He is almost completely concerned with incubation and nothing else. 6:33 p.m. E F left P 23 moving S part P 20, no she turned around to come back N, rapidly but silently, landing directly for the nest clump, came in to the E to patrol, now 6:35 moving.
