Apr 29 same locality - Back at 4:10 a.m., ♀ still (?) on nest, at 4:14 the ♂ published 3 times at ♀ 23. 4:22 a ♂ on the W side "published". 4:29 the E ♂ moved from ♀ 23 to the S side of the nest clump. No response from the ♀ After being near the nest until 4:35 he finally moved off to the S. 4:37, the E ♂, at P16 - is publishing about some- things. He gave about a dozen notes. 4:38, that on the nest is giving a series of "poonks" and "punk-unks" something like, "poons, pooks, punkunk punk-unks, punk-unk". No response from the ♂. 4:43 the ♂ is coming N directly to the nest area, but he stopped to feed without going close to the nest clump, then he went on around it to ♀ 23. 4:47 lots of cost activity on S & W sides. Publishing, pooning and I crow-also the E ♂ publishing at ♀ 23. Then fading off S. 4:53, SO ♂ comes to nest clump, but again not entering it. He again went around the nest to the W and on to ♀ 23, three to ♀ 24. Back in nest area a moment later. 5:00 a.m. he charged out to N23 to rout 2 UNR Cots and a ♂ Buddy. Don't believe the Buddy really counted just incidentally present.
