W. GULLION 1950 Fulica americana 332 Apr. 24 Lake Tamescal, 420 ft., Nameda Co., Calif. At 2:23 p.m., the E ♂ at G 23.11 gave a "pubb". He is resting and preening in the shade. Now 2:27, E ♂ moved over near the nest; ♀ pooshed 2 or 3 times, ♂ gave a few high "pubbs", ♀ came off the nest after the ♂ was already on the ramp. He adjusted cat-tails as she moved off wide from P21 to P17. ♂ quickly settled upon the nest. E ♀ has been in area G 25 for the past little while. Now at 2:55 another change, this one completely silent. The ♀ moved into the cat- tails and I would not have been aware of the shift but for the sound of the ♂ walking down the ramp. Now 3:10 p.m. E ♂ still in general nest area. 3:30 p.m. E ♂ has been out of area for awhile put is now down in S of the nest. E ♂ (3:35) is preening at G 23.13. 3:38-E ♂ pubbs 3 times, came not apparent yet, he's still in to same position. About 3:39 he left, went to point P 23, then started S towards P 17. 3:46 E ♂ back at P 23. After feeding there for about 3 minutes he looped around to the S side of the Nest area and then moved up on the ramp. Ab ♀ made no noise but the ♂ gave quite a series of low "pubbs". By 3:50 he was settled. The ♀ moved off the nest, out to P 23 and S,
