No display or vocal routine, one just gets off the nest, and the other climbs in. 12:19 p.m. a SW bird just chased a ♂ mallard out of its area, then returned to T7 to display at something. The E ♀ has not been back near the nest since she left at 12:11 p.m. (12:25 p.m.). When I was back near the nest at 12:42 p.m. E ♀ was bringing a piece of cat-tail across from P23.15 towards the nest. She dropped it when I appeared and moved down to R23.11 to feed on algae. Then she moved back out, tugging on some dried cat-tail for a moment before moving on out to P22 from where she moved S. The shield on this ♀ is in class 9 rather than 2. She left the nest area going S about 12:45 p.m. Now 1:16 p.m. the E ♀ is “pooching” down towards P16. At 1:21 p.m. E ♀ came up to R21.24 the ♂ on the nest puffed twice and left the nest. She picked up a couple of pieces of dry cat-tail, was met by the ♂ as she brought them in to add to the nest. At 1:24 p.m. she was busy working the stuff into the nest, was finished by 1:25. She was silent during the exchange. The ♂ went off to
