Fulica americana 324 Apr 22 Lake Temescal 420 ft. Alameda Co., Calif saw nest killed 9/20, but most of the red is gone, just very large scar on back of nest. Also WIBL was around. Didn't see W-01B or O. Apr 24 Lake Temescal, 7 eggs in nest T6.1. The♀ intercepted me as I came into the area and was much concerned over my presence. After about 5 minutes (9:00 a.m.) the ♂ seems to have joined her. Nest doesn't seem to be any more built up since the 22d but the ramp is very much better developed. Perhaps recently so, since it is composed of very wet material. As I move into the J6-7 area the SE pair meets me. They are doing a lot of billing and generally seem somewhat concerned over my presence near the new nest & platform. Nest J6.5 has 4 eggs in it, all four warm. No sign & sound from the one hatched young. Both birds nearly but neither overly concerned about my presence. They are swanning good, but not churning or making any vocal protests. Nest Q22.13 has seven eggs in it, all are warm, the♀ was on the nest. As I moved down toward the nest area the ♂ came charging down from P16 to swan near the nest. After I left the nest, both
