Apr 2 Stow Lake, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, Calif.
Only one coot, that with swollen shield at west side of island - a second heard a moment later, and seen. About 12 coots on @ N side of island W of bridge. 6 coots near the small island E of the big one and about 15 coots scattered over the rest of the area east of the island. No tagged or scared birds seen. Some displaying among the birds N of the big island.

Of last weeks green food - the swiss chard and grapes have apparently not been touched. Almost all of the lettuce is gone but much of the carrot tops are still present. Some clover put in the area has not been touched, but some grass that was with the clover was carefully selected out and eaten.
