GULLION
1950
Fulica Americana
271
Apr. 2 Unis. Calif. Campos, Alameda Co., Calif.
Caused no tissue reaction, but it seems
to be pretty loose in the skin. I'll see
now it holds up. O/B - shield same
as on March 17, 1950. Couldn't find the
Estrogen pellets for sure. WT 4/5 gms.
Had to put staples on the tag over the
tworn wires. Tip of bill to top of shield 43 mm.
O - Very much enlarged from March
17, 1950 -(see comparison on page 288)
But otherwise bird about the same.
Weight - 495 grams. Plastered the top
of its head down with Duco cement.
Y/LB apparently a considerable decrease
in shield size. No longer 5, but
only 55, about class 3 rather than
class 11. Photographed. WT 477 grams.
Other birds put back to finish
tomorrow. P/L6 turned into the
pond. With the others.
