April 1 Lake Temescal, 42ft., Alameda Co., Calif.
chasing one as far as NW corner of Rock,
then moved over towards at bird (puddy
duck, it dived) at H10, and then returned
to its cove area. Now 2 birds are feeding
at H7, a momentary display. w/Bl at
E17 was chased out by another bird.
Nest at P16.2 photographed in
BW & color with telephoto. It seems
to be quite well developed now,
with some dead material woven
in. The male seemed to be showing
some concern about my presence.
Nest at Q23.11, or rather environment,
photographed in BW & color. Looked
at this nest from the bridge,
didn't see any eggs and don't think
there are any. Photographed one of the
willows showing a browse line;
specifically the tree at O35.
G/R just got chased out of E17 to
H17, the chasing bird returned to
chase w/Bl from G17 to G-18. A
bird from SE area just chased two
birds away from the N side of the rock,
one being chased to about I12.

A bird crowing at G15, got no
response. Another accompanying
bird has come to F11 to dive &
feed, while the other bird works
S along the cat-tails. Now one
of them is resting on a stick at H11
preening, while the other feeds
