Now 11:20, 4 birds are maintaining an alert terrace at IJ 12-13. One bird venturing to L 10 was quickly repulsed. It looks as if two birds from the flock are trying to build a territory based on a core at M 10. They seem to be trying to defend against birds from all angles, mostly other flock birds, but are quickly routed when SE birds come out- I may be mistaken tho. 11:35- watching North trail above the lake- could see a pair defending M 10 another bird moving out of S 7. The SE bird charged, chasing a W bird and flock bird from M 10, then turning back against the M 10 bird. Now 11:40 everything peaceful again. One of the W birds working over to NW corner of rock, got into charge pos. and gave a "pukh- pukh-pukh" while facing his mate at H 12. A moment later SE bird routed (see map 11:43 am p. 267) 3 birds from L 9, chasing one to H 17, returning thru W area, the W pair charged up to intercept, but only a paired display by all 3 birds at H 12, as SE bird returned to chase one of the 3 further out from M 10.
