Since I pulled cat-tails away from the nest to see it better, the parents have pulled down a lot of green cat-tails around and over the nest to better conceal it. - Visited the north pair about 6:30- when I crossed the dike the ♀ was in H18 and the male came out of N26 - she was quiet but he noisy. I crossed on my clearway going by the new nest, which seems to be more nearly complete, with a fairly good gangway built. While on the island the ♀ came into area K24, brusily "poonking". No sign of the ♂ from this area, but I haven't time to look around. The ♀ seems quite concerned about the new nest. The ♀ of the C12 ♀ nest doesn't give a poonk like this ♀, but does give a note quite lower than her mate, and not nearly the clear "punk" of the male.
